The body of a man has been pulled from the waters off Queensland’s Sunshine Coast after being spotted by the crew of a charter fishing boat.

Jeff Phillips, whose company Fishing Offshore Noosa owns and operates the charter boat, told the Sunshine Coast everyday his crew did not immediately know the man was dead, instead they thought he was in distress.

“The skipper just found the body floater and they picked it up,” Phillips told the outlet.

“When they brought him on board, they realized the person was dead.”

He said they brought the body ashore and into the possession of the Coast Guard.

A report is being prepared by the police for the coroner.
