Disney Dreamlight Valley Fishing Guide

0

Fish in Disney Valley of Dreams is pretty straightforward compared to some of the other games out there. You will get a fishing rod from Goofy after completing his quest where he asks you to find his missing lucky fishing rod. Once you bring him back, he gives you a fishing rod to use. This is essential for progressing in the game and is an easy way to get ingredients for your meals, earn quick cash, and also give gifts to townspeople!

You can access the fishing rod by pressing the number “4” on a keypad and pressing the right trigger to bring up the radial menu and select the fishing rod from there on a controller. Once you have your fishing rod in hand, you will walk to one of the water pools where you will see bubbles floating from a ring in the water.

How Disney Valley of Dreams Fishing work

To launch your line on a keyboard, you will need to hold down the spacebar. On a controller, you hold down the X button. Once you bite down on the line, you will see a large ring form around the fishing wave. From there, you’ll be prompted to click the left mouse button if you’re using PC commands or pressing X on a controller at the right time (when the large ring slowly shrinks to the size of the ripple of origin and turns green) to begin winding it. You’ll have to click or press X a few times to finally wind up this bad boy, but then it’s over and you can rinse and repeat.

You can find puddles all around the map or in the ocean. They’re pretty easy to spot, but be sure to pay attention to the color of the ripples and bubbles in the water. You will come across three different colored peach ripples; white, blue and orange. The color of the ripple determines the rarity of fish that can be caught there, with white being the basic and easy to catch fish, blue being slightly rare, and orange being the rarest fish available in that area. The rarer the fish, the harder it is to catch, meaning you’ll need to shoot a few more times before a successful catch.

Best way to fish in Disney Valley of Dreams

One of the best ways we’ve found to fish indoors Disney Valley of Dreams is to always bring a companion! If you walk up to one of the townspeople and talk to them, you’ll see an option that says “Let’s go!”. This will encourage that resident to follow you as you complete tasks and as they progress away from you in performing your tasks, such as ore mining, farming, and of course fishing. As you progress, you will be asked to choose a role for each inhabitant of the town, so choose one to play fishing. It is now the companion you will want with you whenever you travel to catch fish, because with this trait it allows you to catch bonus fish.

How to automate fishing with Moana’s boat

In order to unlock Moana’s Fishing Boat, you will first need to enter the Disney Dream Castle and unlock the door to her world. Once there, she will offer you some quests to join the sea that calls her again! First, you will find some materials scattered on the beach, such as silk and wooden planks, and bring them back to Moana.

From there, you’ll talk to the demigod of wind and sea, Maui, who will test you by asking you questions about himself. After that, you return to Moana again and complete her “How far will you go” quest, where you’ll receive a map of the ocean to take a look at. From there, you and Moana set sail to find a light to break through the mist that covers your way to the greatest fishing ground ever known. After completing her quests and bringing her back to Valley of the Light of Dreams, you will have to return to Maui who remained on the island. He will ask you to make him a 3 star meal so he can also move to the Valley.

Once you have progressed through the main storyline to Dazzle Beach and Moana’s friendship level is at least 6, she will offer you a quest called “Fix the Boat”. To complete the quest, you will need 50 Softwoods, 70 Fibers, and 3 Pink Hydrangeas. Gather all the necessary materials, bring them back to Moana on Dazzle Beach, and you now have a boat! Moana will then go on a journey to collect fish for you, and the boat can be upgraded multiple times to increase its efficiency.
